The landscape is constructed by the gaze. The gaze glides over the landscape from above, without the reference of a map, which has become obscured, or a compass, which points to nowhere.
The landscape is constructed by the gaze, which has abandoned the hero’s body. The landscape does not understand this disembodied gaze and, unaware, makes plants, bushes and hares turn up late.
The landscape becomes a map and shows us its edges, from which the hero will fall forever. He will fall in an endless loop and see all kinds of abandoned objects in a world resting on a film of murky water.
